Lantzville is the first District in British Columbia to become incorporated in the new millennium, officially becoming incorporated on June 25, 2003. It has a population of almost 4,000 residents, spread over 27 square kilometres.
Lantzville was traditionally a coal mining town but is now known for its small community charm and friendly locals. Lantzville is primarily residential, with limited commercial business, a few stores, a dentist office and a pub. While in town make sure you check out Riso at 7217 Lantzville Rd. for some of the best food on Vancouver Island. And if you are a golfer, make a day of it at the local oceanfront Winchelsea View Golf Course!
In order to keep the quality of life that it currently enjoys, the Lantzville District has an official mission statement that includes providing affordable services that are environmentally and economically sustainable, while managing growth in the community and ensuring the rural character and charm are respected. Visit the District of Lantzville’s website for more information at www.Lantzville.ca.
